From a uniquely female perspective, this play is based on Delbo’s own experiences as a French resistant during WW2. It seeks to describe the indescribable – the horrors of Auschwitz.
This is a play about what it takes to fight and to survive the unimaginable.
It is a play about our universal obligation to say what we have seen – to ‘carry the word’.
